Every year, Orion makes a $5000 donation on behalf of each of its partner companies. Since the company’s inception in 2020, the charity donation program has grown by 17x. With each business Orion invests in, the donation program continues to expand, giving back to the local communities that support Orion’s companies.
“Without local communities, we don’t have a business, we don’t have a team,” said Isaiah Brown, Orion CEO. “We need to be helping those communities thrive and giving back to them as they give to our business.”
The charity donation program began with the belief that part of Orion’s responsibility as an investor is to support customers by going above and beyond providing high quality field services.
“When we make an investment in a company, we view ourselves as a steward of that business,” said Isaiah. “That stewardship extends to the local communities that support our companies and our teams.”
Since its inception, the program has become an opportunity for Orion to emphasize its focus on autonomy. Presidents and general managers at each partner company select their annual charities, with many leaders choosing to give back to local youth organizations, animal shelters, and healthcare providers.
“We always want people closest to the action making decisions, so for our donation program, we have each business decide who they want to support each year,” Isaiah said.
Now, the program is enabling the Orion team to continue upholding its values of empowerment, partnership, and winning the right way.
This year, Orion’s teams gave back a wide array of causes. At Astra, Orion’s network of mechanical service providers, many company leaders selected foundations that empower veterans, such as The HeadStrong Project, the Gary Sinise Foundation, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Stop Soldier Suicide, and K9s for Warriors. Several companies chose organizations that have helped their teams and families, including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.
SunWorks, Orion’s commercial landscaping provider, also focused on veterans’ causes. Several companies donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, which uplifts injured veterans. Alongside the Wounded Warrior Project, a few company leaders gave back to SARA (Society for Animal Rescue and Adoption), one of the largest animal sanctuaries in the world.
Leo, Orion’s facilities maintenance platform, has thrown its support behind the Connex Foundation’s Impact Project. This year, ConnexFM has partnered with HelpNow of Osceola to provide temporary safe shelter for domestic abuse victims as they work toward violence-free living. Leo has specifically focused on Help Now of Osceola’s pet kennel initiative, which aims to provide domestic abuse survivors with pets an accessible solution.
“Help Now of Osceola’s pet kennel initiative addresses areal, human barrier that often keeps victims in unsafe situations,” said Isaiah. “The solution is compassionate, practical, and deeply rooted in its local community. It’s a targeted and immediate effort to meet people where they are.”
The Connex Foundation is also hosting a Day of Giving in April of 2026, during which foundation members can participate in a volunteering event to improve Help Now of Osceola’s facility.
“As an investor in the trades, we take a hands-on, all-in approach to everything we do, and this initiative felt like a natural extension of that mindset,” Isaiah said. “We’re excited to show up for an excellent event that aligns with our core values and serves those in need.”
